Gulf Governor’s application adjourned

The matter returned to court today however it was adjourned to the first week of February on request of Kavo’s lawyer.

The request through a letter was made to the court by Kavo’s lawyer seeking an adjournment for a month while the lawyer works on obtaining his 2016 Legal Practicing Certificate from the PNG Law Society.

All lawyers must obtain the practicing certificates for the year before they can appear in court.

Governor denies bribery bid on judge

LOOP PNG published a report on Sunday night about a Gulf politician allegedly being in the vicinity when  an attempt  was made to bribe a judge last Thursday at the Water Front café. 

Eye witnesses say Kavo was in the area at the time of the alleged incident.

He confirmed to Loop PNG that he was at the water front Foodworld shopping mall buying phone top-ups when his body guard met the judge.

“My bodyguard met the judge and was trying to introduce me but I didn't respond," Kavo says.

Kavo: Decision in best interest of people

Speaking to reporters outside the Court house, Kavo said it has been a long 5 year battle and wait for his people, supporters and family.

He said today’s decision was in the best interest of his province and with the court battle over he can now concentrate on the development of the next big LNG project that will be hosted in his province.

He said the legal battle cost the state a lot of money.

 And he issued a call to police to do their job without compromise.
