Grammy award

Brooke Fraser wins Grammy Award

The award was granted for the song 'What A Beautiful Name,' which she wrote for Hillsong Church.

She has performed with her husband as part of the church's Los Angeles core leadership team under the name Brooke Ligertwood since 2008.

Fraser is best known in New Zealand for her hits 'Something In The Water' and 'Deciphering Me'.

This is Fraser's first Grammy Award.

'What A Beautiful Name' has had 112 million views on YouTube.

The song won out over competing tracks from Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, and MercyMe.

'Beyonce deserves to beat my Grammy record'

They recognise the bluegrass singer for her work with Union Station, as a solo artist, as a contributor to O Brother, Where Art Thou? and as Robert Plant's foil on Raising Sand.

Earlier this year, it looked like she would be overtaken by Beyonce - who went into the Grammys with nine nominations on top of her 22 previous wins.

As you might have heard, though, Adele denied her the title, beating Beyonce in multiple categories.
