Both Milne Bay Governor Titus Philemon, and South Bougainville MP Timothy Masiu, defected to the Government ranks last week. Philemon joined the United Resources Party (URP) while Masiu joins National Alliance (NA).

The Medical Society of Papua New Guinea is the main sponsor of the symposium.

“I believe giving priority to health and supporting the health development agenda in the country is the right thing to do,” Governor for Milne Bay Province, Titus Philemon, said during his welcome address at the Alotau International Hotel on Sunday (Sept 04).

The symposium featured the theme: “The global burden of diseases and epidemiology trends in PNG”.
