WOW award lifts business profile

New opportunities were certainly opened for Rita Jaima Paru, the runner-up finalist of the SP Brewery Entrepreneur Category award of the Westpac Outstanding Woman Awards in 2014. 

Rita’s home-based catering business blossomed when she was recognized on the presentation night by an inspiring local businessman and was given the opportunity to cater for an event at the Helifix Hangar a week after WOW. 

ExxonMobil PNG supports local women

The program, run by Plan International USA known as Global Women in Management (GWIM), is supported by operator of the PNG LNG Project, ExxonMobil PNG Limited under parent company ExxonMobil’s Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative.

The nine women, Kore Tau, Elizabeth Taurega, Margaret Aila, Miriam Gai, Ruth Kissam, Theresa Gizoria, Miriam Layton, Shirley Iragali and Rita Paru are attending the workshop from  April  18 to May 13.
