Ganim fraud case

 Ganim is facing one count of misappropriation, one count of abuse of office and official corruption.

The former Wabag MP appeared at the Waigani Committal Court on Tuesday. His lawyer made oral submissions in response to the Police complied hand-up brief, which is also before court.

It is alleged that between May 5, 2013 and January 7, 2017, Ganim fraudulently changed the ownership of a government-issued vehicle belonging to Wabag district administration to his name.

Trial date yet to be set for trio in Library contracts fraud

Former director of the National Library and Archives Jacob Hevelawa, his wife Miriam Hevelawa, and the former corporate service manager of the National Library and Archives, Timothy Numara, all appeared before the Waigani National Court.

Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika reviewed and conducted their District Court bail conditions to the National Court.

Numara is on bail of K6,000 while the Hevelawa are on bail of K2,000 each.

They were ordered to report to the National Court Crimes registry every second Friday of the month.

Man in court over alleged K600,000 fraud

Murray Willie of Warakum in the Western Highlands Province appeared before Magistrate Cosmas Bidar today after police arrested and laid specific charges against him.

Willie was previously arrested and released on K500 bail for defrauding a lodge owner of K600,000, however he was arrested and charged  for the second time on specific charges.

He was charged for 17 counts of false pretence, 17 counts of conspiracy to defraud the owner of a lodge, three counts of forgery and one count of impersonation.
