Wilder to be sent AJ terms

The unbeaten fighters have been on a collision course for some time, particularly since Joshua defeated Joseph Parker to add the WBO strap to his WBA and IBF belts.

However, despite plenty of back-and-forth verbal sparring, a deal has yet to materialise and Hearn, Joshua's promoter, recently suggested that an agreement to fight Alexander Povetkin was close and the Wilder clash would have to wait until February 2019.

Frustrations reach boiling point, students clash with villagers

ENB provincial police commander, Joseph Tabali, said the crux of the issue was similar to that of Gelegele; constant harassment and attack of students and staff by locals in surrounding villages.

“Those nearby villagers have been attacking students and robbing them when they catch bus from Kokopo to the campus,” PPC Tabali told Loop PNG.

He further pointed out a number of cases that had eventually led to the clash on Sunday, May 27th.

ENB provincial police commander, Joseph Tabali, said the fight, which started on Saturday, May 26th, ended yesterday (May 28th). It stemmed from frustrations by villagers who were subject to continuous harassment by youths from the neighbouring village of Nodup.

“Yesterday morning (May 28) an adult male from Malakuna number 4 was seriously wounded,” said Tabali.

“We were looking for (Nodup) suspects when he was attacked from behind.

“He was rushed to the Vunapope General Hospital but died because of loss of blood.”

“I saw men with weapons such as bush knives rushing towards the crowd, chasing the innocent members of the public.

“Mothers who were selling food, children, young women and men ran for their lives.”

Anthony Joshua demands Joseph Parker fights him in Britain

The location of the highly-anticipated unification bout remains one of the key points to completing negotiations for the heavyweight division's super fight.

Joshua confirmed the fight deal was 95 per cent over the line for a clash early this year.

Parker's promoter David Higgins is having the contract examined by legal experts and is likely to fly to London late this week to sign it off.

Parker could join him in the UK for a press conference the following week.

He is expected to face federal charges for interference with a flight crew, FBI special agent Paul Delacourt told reporters.
