ExxonMobil PNG Limited (EMPNG)

The partnership between ExxonMobil and the Australian Government contributes to addressing rural workforce gaps in the frontline service delivery sector of health, with promotion focused on students living in rural and remote locations from PNG LNG Project areas.

The Australian High Commission’s Counsellor (Education), Suzanne Edgecombe, described the partnership as an excellent example of the private and public sector coming together to enhance economic and social progress.

The IBBM Enterprise Centre was established by the PNG LNG Project in 2010 to create economic opportunities for Papua New Guinean businesses and develop the capabilities of local landowner companies and contractors, as well as PNG suppliers and vendors, as part of the PNG LNG Project National Content Plan. 

ExxonMobil PNG’s National Content Manager Susil Nelson-Kongoi said its partnership with the Enterprise Centre had exceeded all expectations with its services now delivering value well beyond the PNG LNG project. 

The Global Women in Management (GWIM) program is supported by operator of the PNG LNG Project, ExxonMobil PNG Limited under parent company ExxonMobil’s Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative.

At the welcome back reception, ExxonMobil PNG Limited’s Public and Government Affairs Manager, Daniel Worrall, congratulated the women on successfully completing the training program. Mr Worrall thanked the participants for their attendance at the program, and their commitment to use the new skills they have learned for the benefit of PNG.

Before the clean-up began, the team engaged with the community in general sanitation practices and protecting the environment.

EMPNG community affairs officer, Steven Kadam said the volunteering provides an opportunity for the workforce to engage with the community in a meaningful way and demonstrates a strong culture of teamwork, encouraging each of us to give back to the community.
