Edai Town residents want road fixed

They expressed frustration at the extremely slow and drawn out rehabilitation of the Napanapa Road project. It has been close to two years since a signage was put at the roundabout adjacent to the East-West Transport yard at Baruni, announcing the commencement of the road rehabilitation, however, not much has been implemented.

The Edai town residents through their roads committee handed a petition to the Member for Hiri-Koiari, Keith Iduhu in Port Moresby last Thursday, March 23 seeking his support to take their concerns further up with the government.

These organisations have decided to put their landowner benefits from Ok Tedi Mine to good use, by investing in townhouses at Edai Town, in Central Province.

No deaths were reported.

Most of the children escaped with bruises and minor injuries, but the condition of at least seven of them was serious.

An eight-year-old-boy was among them. He lost a lower limb and was scheduled to undergo surgery today.

At the Emergency Ward, most were nursing minor physical injuries but were still visibly in shock and were being comforted by their parents and families.

Business opportunities for villagers

Boera Village leaders say the shop unveils business opportunities within the grasp of Boera entrepreneurs.

Located within the ongoing Edai Town development, the venture aims to tap into the potential growth of the township and business opportunities.

Boera Holdings Limited chairman, Madaha Maino, said it was a proud moment to open an avenue for local entrepreneurs to tap into this growth.
