Blood Bank receives printer donations

The donation supports the Centre's crucial office operations. The new printer is expected to boost efficiencies in the day-to-day tasks of the Sir Brian Bell Centre for Transfusion Medicine.

Upon a service request in search for toners for their old printer, Operations Manager Xenia Peni sought assistance from Remington Technology, resulting in a generous donation. General Manager Justin Kieseker personally presented the printer on Monday, emphasising Remington's dedication to being "Loyal To Local."

KML delivers on K3m funding for Kidney work

President of PNG Kidney Foundation, Sir Martin Poh received the dummy cheque from KML Chairman Dr. Ila Temu at Kumul Minerals Building at 2-Mile, NCD.

The KML Chair acknowledged that Kidney disease is one area in the health sector that needs a lot of help. Setting up the Kidney Foundation presents the means to start the conversation. He thanked the PNG Kidney Foundation for this.

Water tanks for Madang school

Holy Spirit Primary in Ward 3 of Madang district, will now be able to store water for use, after receiving two new 9500L water tanks.

The water tanks were purchased by the Office of the Madang Town Mayor recently. Town mayor Peter Yalsy Masia donated the tanks after the school faced water disruptions in 2023 affecting the learning of the students.

Holy Spirit Primary School headmaster Arigini thanked Mr Masia and highlighted how water disruptions affected classes in 2023.

WNB Women Extend Support to Eruption Victims

Secretary of the Provincial Council of Women, Siwa Matawe, announced the successful donation initiative, where 28 bags of clothing were contributed by women across the province. The items included clothes for children, youth, men, and women and were distributed to Kabaya Care Center by Women Representative Agatha Kapi and the women of Nakanai.

TotalEnergies supports technical skill training

This was in light of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed earlier in March between TEP PNG, POM Tech and the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology to address inconsistencies in power supply along with supplementary education equipment, to allow for a conducive workspace for all students. 

In attendance to witness the event was the Head of Societal Development for TotalEnergies Exploration and Production (EP), Claudine Chavee, who is in country this week from the Headquarters in Paris. 

Kina Bank donates K10,000 to SJA

The cheque for K10,000 was presented to St John Ambulance on Thursday 26th October, 2023 and received by the St John Ambulance CEO Matt Cannon.

While receiving the cheque, Cannon shared with the Kina Bank team about the ambulance service and the role it plays in the community.

K5.3million endorsed for donga project

A dummy cheque in that amount was presented to Program Manager, Steve Hoap on Wednesday 16th August, 2023.

Representatives of OTML, Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) and presidents of the associations were present to witness the kind gesture.

OTDF CEO, Havini Vira, said, "This commitment reflects the women’s dedication to partner in growth, progress, and improved livelihoods for all."

He said this investment, with guaranteed returns, will generate profits that will support the women’s development activities beyond mine closure.

Empowering Paralympians

The funds were provided to assist the country's team in the forthcoming 2023 World Para Athletics Championships, set to take place in Paris, France this July.

The PNG delegation, consisting of three individuals including a coach, will represent their nation on the global stage. Dorna Longbut, a remarkable Paralympian, will compete in both the Javelin and Shot Put events.

Laptops for Grace Memorial

The laptops were presented by PNG DataCo Limited’s Domestic Business Manager, Kaime Kipi, on Monday this week.

Kipi acknowledged Wau-Waria MP Marsh Nawarec for the partnership in ensuring PNG DataCo Limited's Community Service Obligations initiative was in line with district initiatives.

“The presentation of these laptops will greatly benefit the students of Grace Memorial Technical Secondary School in their learning,” Kipi said. 

The laptops will help teachers with lesson plans, with reliable access to new teaching content.

PNGTPA Donates to Easter Event

The Visit Papua New Guinea campaign, through the Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA), donated K7,000 to support the park in these activities.

Abuti Kevin, Director of Corporate Affairs at PNGTPA, commended the park for providing a safe environment for leisure activities and education on natural environment conservation in Papua New Guinea.

She also encouraged families to register early for the park's events and enjoy the fun activities, delicious food, and natural atmosphere.
