A Million Dreams – Bosconians Graduate

About 382 students walked into the Kurongku hall to participate in the 26th graduation for Grade 12 and the Industrial Training Course on Wednesday 15th November.

It was also the 22nd Graduation ceremony for the Employment Oriented Skills Development Training.

Couples attend marriage course

The session themed ‘Strengthening Connection’ is under a Marriage course by Nicky and Sila Lee. The course used the analogy of a vine in a winery that requires – adjusting, pruning, supporting and renewing.

The couples took part in activities like reflection and sharing with each other, cido clippings of couples and inputs by Fr Ambrose Pereira sdb, who gave the couples discussion pointers.

The couples also shared on their first encounter with each other, their friendship, communication, physical relationship, future together and their weekly special moments together.  

Don Bosco technical graduates over 200 students

The event, held at the school’s campus on Friday 22nd November, saw students attaining certificates for both Grade Twelve and the Industrial Training Course (ITC) 2. Those who finished ITC 2 also received the National Certificate 2 (NC2) issued by TVET.

33rd Foundation of Don Bosco technical

It is the 203rd birth anniversary of St John Bosco.

The week-long celebration commenced with ‘Family Day’. It was celebrated by 2,500 people and had as its theme: ‘Wokabaut wantaim ol yangpela’.  

The celebration will have different elements every day. 

The following are outlined for the week ahead: Catechetical Quiz, Bosco Got Talent, Assumption of Our Lady and an Academia.

Media education seminar involves seven schools

Aside from the student participants and media coordinators of the different schools, representatives from mainstream media also graced the event.

The sessions focused on print media with the objective of producing newsletters, school newspapers and even write ups of events to be sent to the media and posted on a school news bulletin board.

Ian Zuasula took the participants through the anatomy of a newspaper, citing sections from the two daily newspapers of the country.

Don Bosco Gabutu opens Academic year

Presider, now Bishop-elect Peter Baquero SDB of the Diocese of Kerema urged the DBTS school community to be open to the bidding of the Holy Spirit.

He encouraged all to strive to carry out the will of God throughout the academic year.

The Rector of DBTS, Fr. Savio Angelo S. Sanchez SDB welcomed everybody stressing on how privileged the students are to be part of DBTS family.

Don Bosco Technical school winner of Youth Blood Drive 2016

The students have donated a total of 429 life-saving bags of blood in three visits by the blood bank team this year.

Youth Blood Drive, Director, Anna Megueria congratulated the school and students for cooperating with the team, in collecting a huge number of blood bags.

“We’ve been saving a lot of people with the blood you have donated. Your school is very inspiring, and you should be proud of being part of the school,” Megueria told the students.
