Digicel boost’s PNG Music awards with K80,000

The sponsorship, which allows Digicel to gain naming rights, will assist in staging the event scheduled on April 30.

This is the fourth year that Digicel has sponsored the awards night and throughout this time, the company has helped put the spotlight on hundreds of PNG’s very talented musicians and singers.

Musicians and bands, whose songs had been frequently requested by listeners on YUMIFM in 2015, will finally be recognized on the night for their effort in promoting PNG style music.

Digicel set to take on Ginigoada in netball final

This is a first for Digicel to make it to a netball grand final.

Coach Susan Pala said it had been a long road but hard work and commitment has paid off.

“We first entered the competition in 2010 and worked our way up from the lower divisions to division 5 and 6 this season.

“We're very excited and looking forward to Sunday,” said Pala.

Digicel has beaten Ginigoada twice already this season, which Pala said has given the girls a lot of confidence for the game.

“The girls will give a 120 percent effort tomorrow to play their best and win,” said Pala.
