15 lucky winners get Digicel 1 year free TV

The special promotion, which ran from January 18 to February 18, saw customers who subscribed to any Digicel Play package go in to a draw to win a 365-day plan free of charge. 

Digicel PNG CEO Maurice McCarthy said the month-long promotion was a great success, awarding 15 winners in total from all over PNG.

“It has not only been an exciting promotion for all participants but has been a chance to thank Digicel Play’s loyal customers for subscribing,” he said.

“We are very pleased to give back to our customers who purchase the Digicel Play plans.”

Digicel Play brings NRL excitement to communities

The Buka event, which was held at Bel Isi Park featured local band Model Zero who entertained residents and league fans.  

Kokopo Primary School oval was also full of activities on the day, with local group Mind Trip performing and a special appearance by the Rabaul Agmark Gurias led by Captain Albert Patak and Boas Ruru, providing some simple ball drills with the children and a game of footy.

Digicel Play partners with NBC for NRL coverage

During the 2016 season, three weekly NRL matches will be aired on NBC as well as Digicel Play. The partnership will also see the ANZAC Test and the very popular State of Origin series aired on both networks.

All remaining matches, including the PNG Hunters games and Digicel Cup, will be aired on Digicel Play.

Digicel CEO, Mr Maurice McCarthy, said Digicel recognises that Rugby League and the NRL has a passionate following in PNG.

Digicel Play updates to give more channels to viewers

Digicel has simplified the broadcast plan options by removing the 1 Day and 7 Day Regular Plans which saw viewers only being able to access eight to 10 channels.

Viewers can now purchase a 1 day, 7 Day or 30 Day Premium Plan each providing access to more than 29 channels, or a 30 Day Regular Plan which allows customers to view 22 channels.

Digicel Play shows first league game of the season

Thanks to Digicel Play, the game was televised live to people’s homes all over PNG on TVWAN Sports HD.

The live broadcast saw an expert team of 25 people position themselves from a variety of angles around the stadium to ensure those watching at home felt as if they were at the live game.

Rugby league fans invited to Family Footy Fun in towns

Held each weekend in a different location over the next month, the NRL in the Park is a community initiative sponsored and organised by rugby league broadcaster Digicel Play, which aims to bring PNG’s favourite sport to the people.

The free event will provide a variety of live entertainment for all ages including meeting local rugby league stars, local bands, prizes, fun games and comedic personalities.

TVWAN turns one year old

Since its launch, TVWAN has offered viewers the most comprehensive grid of all the Papua New Guinea channels including its in-house produced Business Plus PNG, TVWAN News Review and Profile PNG current affairs shows as well as a selection of the latest international movies, series, and lifestyle programmes.

It shows no signs of slowing down with age either, with a new programme line up launched on November 16, featuring current affairs shows such as ‘Foreign Correspondent’ and ‘60 Minutes’ as

Digicel Play secures NRL broadcast rights

This includes the rights to broadcast the NRL Premiership League, the State Of Origin, the All Stars match, the ANZAC test and the Under 20s competition from now until the end of 2017.

Select NRL matches will be broadcasted starting this weekend on the new TVWAN Rugby Channel.
