Digicel Play’s Yu Em Khax talent show

Opportunities beyond YEK: Jack Spade

The talent show is almost over and Jack Spade already has gigs lined up.

Not only that, but he wants to see all contestants continue performing together, even after the show.

“I’ve already got a gig lined up for the Easter weekend and I’ve talked with other contestants. It would be good to use different acts to entertain.

“I want my fellow contestants to experience something outside the studio and to see that there’s a career with it,” he said.

Speaking on relationship with other contestants, he says:

Jack Spade dedicates act to late sister

Eileen, a big fan of big brother Oswald Philemon, known as Jack Spade on stage, travelled to Port Moresby from Lae when she heard he made it through to the semi-finals.

“She was already here, to watch my show, but then passed away from an illness,” he said.

Jack Spade also made a special mention to his fans in his hometown Popondetta.

“My travel to Port Moresby was made possible entirely by my fans and mother back in Popondetta,” he said.

Eight talents secure spot in Lae heats

They are:

Jack Spade – magician, Bradly Wong – singer, Mathias K Yoba – comedian, Steven Philemon – guitar solo, Azariah Yalu – singer, Adolf Greg (Biz) – dance, Peter Kumulman – comedian and Jonathan Holmes – singer.

These talents have secured a spot in the Lae heat, set to be recorded tonight

Soon after the announcement, lead judge in the main auditions, Calextus Simeon, admitted that the Lae auditions may have been the hardest for them to judge.

“Lae is way ahead and we thank everyone that have come forward to participate,” he said.
