Cristiano Ronaldo wins FIFA best player award for fourth time

He beat runner-up and great rival Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann to complete a sweep of top individual awards.

FIFA Awards:

Ronaldo enjoys date night with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated the team's World Club Cup triumph by going out for food in the Spanish capital with his new girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez.

The Portugal captain was snapped with lipstick on his cheek as he exited a Madrid nightspot with Rodriguez on Monday.

Ronaldo's Rolls Royce Ghost was waiting for the pair upon their exit and whisked them away into the night.

Ronaldo: There will never be another Cristiano

The Real Madrid star believes there are plenty of promising youngsters around in the game.

But the 31-year-old, widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, thinks it is very much unlikely there will ever be a player with exactly the same characteristics.

"No one can be the next Cristiano Ronaldo," Ronaldo told Marca.

"There are no doubles in football. The next will be what he has to be, but never the same. That does not happen.

Cristiano Ronaldo 'has 10 years' left

The 31-year-old Portuguese's last deal was set to end in June 2018 but he will now remain with the Spanish giants until June 2021.

He added that the new contract would not be the last deal he signs.

"What I most want is to continue enjoying the years I have left to play," said the former Manchester United player. "I still have 10 years."

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez added: "We want to be together for many years to come."

Cristiano Ronaldo's bizarre Instagram picture

At least, that is the only plausible explanation we could come up with when faced with Cristiano Ronaldo's curious new mask!

The Real Madrid star flaunted the plastic contraption on Instagram, leaving many followers puzzled over its purpose.

Scary or just plain silly? You be the judge!

Ronaldo's Portugal scrapes into semi-finals with penalty shootout victory

Teenage sensation Renato Sanches, who scored Portugal's goal and smashed home one of the penalties, said it was a "wonderful moment for the team and for me for scoring".

It will be the fourth time Portugal have reached the semi-finals in the last five European Championships.

Portugal have reached the last four without winning a single game within 90 minutes.

"People criticise us but we don't care, because we are in the semis," Sanches said.

Cristiano Ronaldo throws reporter's microphone into lake

The Portugal star was out for a leisurely stroll with his compatriots near the team hotel in Lyon when he was approached by a journalist for comment.

Instead of his years' worth of media training kicking in, Ronaldo snatched the reporter's microphone out of his hand and launched it into a nearby lake.

The Real Madrid man is coming under increasing scrutiny, having underperformed in both his country's matches at Euro 2016.
