Covenant Creed

2018 back to school jam tonight

Gospel band Covenant Creed will be hosting its second Back to School Jam tonight, at the Sir John Guise Indoor complex, in Port Moresby.

Covenant creed is a band that started in the 80s. But over time, it has changed with the style of music, taking on board younger members.

With music being a big part of youth this day, Covenant Creed hopes to use their platform to positively impact this population.

The back to school concert is one project, meant to reach out to young people preparing for another academic year.

Covenant Creed to launch new album

This will coincide with its back to school concert set for February 10.

Putting together the 14 songs was the gospel band’s biggest project in 2017.

The album was released late last year, around October, and already CDs are selling out fast, said Pr Anthony Ando.

Pr Ando, the band leader, says this album brings a new sound to its listeners, particularly aiming to embrace the young population.

Band sets positive start to academic year

This is an initiative the band started last year and hopes to keep on an annual basis.

The concert is the band’s way of reaching out to the young people who are prepping for another academic year.

Pr Anthony Ando, band leader, said the concert is very important, to set a platform that speaks positively into the lives of the young.

“This will help them in their planning, goal setting and them looking forward to go through the year with all the challenges that’s ahead,” he said.

PNG gospel band reveals changes

The release of a new album and change of name to Covenant Creed is among the few, according to Pr. Anthony Audo, a pioneer of the group.
The album, to be launched in October 22, will bring a different style of music, shifting from worship type to a more dance and pop style.
Pr. Anthony says the changes come with a new sound, new songs and new faces, capturing an audience of all age groups. And with the band’s songs used in at least 42 different countries, the new music will be well suited for both international and local audience.
