PNG fans impress at concert

It wasn’t just Party Animal fans sang along to.

Even Jamaican nationals at the concert were pretty impressed to hear the PNG audience singing along to other Charly Black songs like Nicest, Buddy Buddy and Wine and Kotch.

Charly Black arrived in the country on Saturday and took to the stage of The Cosmopolitan club early Sunday morning for a one-time performance only.

It was a packed house with the super club filling as early as 9pm on Saturday night, forcing the doors to close by 12am.

Empowering aspiring Oro musicians

Pushing this agenda with the inaugural Oro Music Festival is a recently formed foundation called the Birdwing Foundation.

The foundation is a community initiative aimed at supporting individuals and groups from Oro Province.

In collaboration with the Cosmopolitan Club, the Oro Music Fest will be staged this weekend, May 19, at the super club.

The Music Fest is an initiative aimed at promoting and empowering musicians from its homeland.

There are some famous bands from Oro that have graced PNG’s music industry, including a new breed of emerging musicians.

Rap-ture winner soon to record music

On the night of November 3, Noxxy, entered the Cosmopolitan Club with one aim – to secure a record deal.

Who will spit it the best tonight?

Six contestants will enter the battle grounds, armed with tongue-twisting creativity to impress the crowd and the judges tonight at the Cosmopolitan club.

With the heat settling in, one of Rap’ture 2016’s judges brings us back to the audition stages of the competition.

“When they came in, I wasn’t really impressed,” says Kamako of 3KiiNgZ.

But he is expecting something different for tonight:

“Tonight will blow people off. It’s going to be awesome, exciting, it will exceed our expectation,” he says.

Judge wants ‘originality’ in dance competition

“Bring it to the floor” dance battle is a tough competition with a judging panel to match. Every single move by participating crews will be scrutinised.

In fact, the competition boils down to more than just battling it off for 5 minutes.

As judge Calextus Simeon describes, this chapter of PNG entertainment is about writing a new story for PNG through RNB and hip hop.

“Dance is an expression of whatever circumstance or situation you are in. It can be a happy spontaneous expression of something or it can be about a sad something.
