Semi-finals approaches for Mr Cosmopolitan

The first of its kind competition was launched last month, February 16, attracting a total of 21 male models from different walks of life.

The competition was with aim to identify the male face of the super club – The Cosmopolitan.

Over the course, eliminations has left 15 models in total to go through the semi-finals which will be staged tonight.

15 will go onto the stage and only 10 will stay on to make it through to the grand finale, set for April 6.

The categories are club wear, formal sut and tie, themed outfit and beach wear. 

Experience Mardi Gras at the Cosmopolitan

Originally, it is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.

Related popular practices are associated with various other celebrations in countries such as England.

Speed date to celebrate Valentines

This is a formalised matchmaking process of dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people.

The origins, according to Wikipedia, are credited to Rabbi Yaacov Deyo of Aish HaTorah, originally to help Jewish singles meet and marry.

Adopted into different cultures, the Cosmopolitan in conjunction with Rait FM, is bringing this event, for the first time to Papua New Guinea.

The event for singles between ages of 23 and 35 will be staged tonight, open only to those who had registered prior to date.

Stagajah’s bash boasts record crowd

And it may have been one of the largest crowd for the year for Cosmopolitan, as fans and party-goers made their way as early as 9pm to the super club.

The party, initially planned to start at 10pm, kicked off an hour and a half later, but one could say it was worth the wait.

The line at the club entrance grew longer and the energy in the room even stronger.

When Y4 Guns took the stage at 11.30pm, fans poured onto the dance floor, singing to the songs.

The Joint Services Task Force (JSTF), designated to coordinate security operations for APEC 2018, is currently focusing on setting up its framework.

Cosmo celebrates third birthday in style!

Over the past year, the super night club in Port Moresby has brought international singers and hosted talent competitions of various creativity such as modelling, dance, rap and singing.

These were highlighted last night during its third birthday bash, which started at around 9pm and went on into the morning.

The club filled up nearing midnight as customers and employees all came out to celebrate the success of its third year.

“We are going to make it big tonight!” were the words of the party MC and it got better as the night wore on.

Who will be the best spitter?

That’s the question as the hour hand nears 10pm, commencing the grand finale of Rap’ture 2016, the first ever mainstream rap battle in PNG.

Six contestants will enter the battle grounds, armed with tongue-twisting creativity to impress the crowd and the judges tonight at the Cosmopolitan club.

With the heat settling in, one of Rap’ture 2016’s judge brings us back to the audition stages of the competition.

“When they came in, I wasn’t really impressed,” says Kamako of 3KiiNgZ.

But he is expecting something different for tonight:

Tickets for Omi concert start selling next week

Omar Samuel Pasley, better known by his stage name Omi, will visit Papua New Guinea for the first time performing at The Cosmopolitan nightclub on June 18.

The Jamaican singer is expected to perform hit songs "Cheerleader", "Drop In the Ocean" and "Hula Hoop” which are currently hitting the airwaves on local radio stations in the country.

A total of 1400 tickets will be sold at Cosmopolitan for K120 early bird, K150 general, K200 VIP and K300 meet and greet.

Jamaican reggae singer Conkarah arrives for PNG concert

Conkarah will perform at The Cosmopolitan in Moresby as the club celebrates its second birthday tonight (Saturday 7 November).

The 28 year old is excited to be here and with his great Jamaican reggae accent, he told the local media that he is looking forward to experiencing  the food and culture.

“I have a fan base in PNG so it’s really good to be able to come here and perform for people who appreciate my music.

“I have toured Europe and have discovered that people on this side of the world appreciate my music more,” said Conkarah.
