Mother and children in court for murder case

The woman, (all names with-held due to a minor involved in case) appeared before Magistrate Gerry Unjo with her 20 year old daughter, 23 year old son, and a 17 year son (the minor) along with her 25 year old son-in-law from Jiwaka Province.

All five were arrested and charged with one count of willful murder on April 2 this year at Kerema town in the Gulf Province.

It is alleged they were involved in the unlawful killing of Thomas Maroa Posou on February 7 this year at, Kerema town.

Boy-girl ‘date’ leads to charges

The accused (name withheld) was charged with abduction, sexual penetration and intent to rape his 17 year old girl friend on August 23 in Port Moresby.

It is alleged the two went on a date that night and the girl did not return home, leading to the parents reporting the matter to police.

The boyfriend was arrested and charged on August 25 as a result.

His lawyer went before Committal Court magistrate Mekeo Gauli with a bail application on Tuesday (September 8) and was allowed bail at an amount of K1000.

Man in court for forging IPA documents

Thomas Ikupu of Bereina in the Central Province appeared at the Waigani Committal Court today (July 22) on charges of conspiracy to defraud, uttery and forgery.

He was arrested on June 26 and is on a K10,000 police bail.

It is alleged that Ikupu on January 5, 2015 conspired with another man to transfer shares of a company; Yatala Limited, making changes to company directors with the intention to defraud it.
