Cavaliers beat Raptors

Cleveland have won nine of their last 10 games following Tuesday's victory in the NBA.

Cavs star LeBron James led the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Cleveland, who are third in the east with a 48-30 record.

Kevin Love added 18 points and 15 rebounds in a double-double display, while Rodney Hood put up 17 points.

Point guard Jose Calderon has been playing a lot more minutes in recent weeks and scored 19 against the Raptors.

LeBron leads shorthanded Cavaliers

Philadelphia were also without Joel Embiid and T.J. McConnell, but with Ben Simmons, Robert Covington, Dario Saric and J.J. Redick still in the fold, they were going to be a tough out for the Cavs.

Thanks to James' third triple-double of the season, Cleveland were able to get back on the winning track. The 32-year-old had 30 points, 13 assists and 13 rebounds while scoring or assisting on each of the Cavaliers' final 22 points.

LeBron shuts down Jordan comparisons for good

Ever since James was dunking on fellow teenagers, pundits have been linking the superstar to Jordan, but it may not be an apt comparison after all.

James, speaking ahead of Thursday's game against the Boston Celtics, poured water on the hype linking him to the great Bulls legend who won six NBA championships.

"No, [Jordan] was much more of a scorer, at that point did a lot of post work, but our games are just different," James said via Cavs.com .

Cavs to re-sign J.R. Smith

It appears the Cavaliers got a deal done just in time, as it was reported earlier that multiple clubs could have begun engaging with Smith if the Cavaliers didn't sign him to a deal: "Sources say it's only a matter of time before Smith starts engaging with other teams. There are currently six, for the record, with anywhere from $13 million to $27 million in available cap space: Minnesota, Phoenix, Utah, Denver, Brooklyn and Philadelphia."

LeBron James, Stephen Curry honour boxing legend during NBA Finals series

Ali, who died Saturday (AEST) at age 74, was recalled for his sacrifices and struggles for social justice, as well as his boxing career, by the two giants of the NBA.

The late boxer lost three prime years of his career for his stand against fighting in the Vietnam War before the US Supreme Court vindicated him in 1971.

"When an icon like Muhammad Ali passes away, it's just very emotional," James said.

"It's also gratifying to know that guy, one man, will sacrifice so much of his life knowing it will better the next generation of men and women after him."
