Amuli retains Sohe DDA Chairmanship

Kokoda Local Level Government President Willie Pinga who has acted in the position since January 24th this year, handed over the chairmanship to Amuli before the DDA meeting commenced.

Mr Amuli’s election petition, filed by former MP Delillah Gore, was nullified by a National Court decision on January 24, 2023, and stayed through a successful Supreme Court appeal on June 8, 2023.

Mr Pinga said service delivery in the district was affected because of the court case.

Enga PHA announce new chairman

He is from Titip village, Wage Rural Local Level Government in Kandep District.

Kenneth, who possesses Science and Commerce in Accounting degrees from the University of Papua New Guinea, has replaced outgoing chairman, Ambassador Evan Paki, from Lenki village near Wabag town, also Enga Province.

Kenneth’s appointment is for a period of three years.

North Fly to get three more high schools

The proposed new high schools are Olsobip High in Olsobip, St. Betila in Kiunga rural and Bedamuni High in Nomad.

This comes after the North Fly District Development Authority (DDA) passed its policy decision on their establishments during the first 2019 DDA meeting on February 11th in remote Mougulu station in Nomad local level government.

North Fly MP and chairman, James Donald, said it was a government directive that all LLGs in the province should have a high school.

CEO Summit: TOTAL focuses on clean energy

Following the signing of the second LNG project in Port Moresby this morning, TOTAL CEO and Chairman Patrick Pouyanne gave an insight of Energy Development for the Future during the CEO Summit now underway.

“There are expending energy needs around the (APEC) countries, energy is facing a lot of change from this world, must first give access in an affordable way and in a clean way, to ensure it is reliable, affordable and clean,” Pouyanne said.

Pomaleu assumes SCE chairmanship

Pomaleu took on the role during the First Senior Official and Related Meetings in Nha Trang, Vietnam recently.

The role is seen as a huge show of confidence in PNG from the twenty APEC Economies and is the beginning of Papua New Guinea's chairing of APEC in 2018.

Ambassador Pomaleu show cased remarkable leadership during the discussions there.

 Also in this meeting, Papua New Guinea proposed a paper on cross fora collaboration that received overwhelming support.
