New Dialysis Machine for Buka

This was announced by the Managing director of the National Fisheries Authority, John Kasu during a recent trip to the referral hospital.

He said NFA will facilitate for the equipment to be brought to the hospital during the course of the year.

A Dialysis machine is a machine used to filter a patient's blood to remove excess water and waste products when the kidneys are damaged, dysfunctional, or missing. The dialysis machine itself can be thought of as an artificial kidney.

Lifesaving equipment for Buka hospital

This was revealed this morning during a short presentation and demonstration of a Video Endoscopic system machine by a specialist Lae based Doctor, Simon Kassa.

According to the Chief Executive Officer for the Buka General Hospital Dr. Cyril Imako, Buka is the only second Hospital in the country that has that specialized equipment.

According to Lera’s office, they are now looking at purchasing a kidney Dialysis machine and an Aco Heart machine for the Buka general Hospital so people don’t need travel to Port Moresby or overseas for treatment.
