Britney Spears' father suspended as conservator

Jamie Spears was appointed her guardian in 2008, amid concerns over her mental health. On Wednesday, a judge handed the role to a man appointed by Spears.

Earlier this month, Spears had filed to end the conservatorship after his daughter requested another guardian.

Fans around the world have supported her through the #FreeBritney campaign.

In a court hearing in Los Angeles, Judge Brenda Penny formally ended the conservatorship that the star had with her father, but left in place a separate conservatorship with an accountant chosen by Spears' legal team.

Britney Spears gets restraining order against ex-friend

 A judge ordered 44-year-old Sam Lutfi, who has been in legal fights with the Spears family for a decade, to stay at least 200 yards (183 metres) from her, her parents and her two sons, who are 12 and 13.

The judge also ordered that he not contact or disparage anyone from the family.

The restraining order petition alleges Lutfi has been sending harassing and threatening texts to Spears' family and disparaging them on social media.

Britney Spears settles child support row with ex-husband

The Toxic singer had been in dispute with the dancer for several months as he wanted the amount of child support she pays for their two sons, Sean Preston, 13, and 12-year-old Jayden, increased from $US20,000 a month and they have reportedly now reached a new deal.

The terms of the agreement are confidential, but a source told The Blast that Britney has agreed to increase her monthly payments to Kevin by "thousands more".

"No, there's no truth to that at all," Spears said.

Instead talk turned to Bieber's nude photos -- which Spears called "insane"-- and her meeting him years ago.

Backstreet Boys founder dies in prison aged 62

The Federal Bureau of Prisons said the disgraced businessman died on Friday, providing no other details — he was 62.
