Guangzhou-Pom Service Inaugurated

The launch ceremony took place this Tuesday evening at Baiyun International Airport, just hours before the scheduled take-off at 01:00 am (3 am PNG Time) on Wednesday morning.

This direct route will be operated once weekly following the recent issuance of a license last Friday, witnessed by NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Guangdong Governor Wang, officials from both the PNG and Chinese Governments, as well as staff, management, and board members of China Southern Airlines.

PNG, UAE Reach Understanding

In a meeting the Minister for Forest, Walter Schnaubelt met with the UAE Minister for State for International Cooperation and Director General of World Expo2020, Reem Ephraim Al Hashimy in Dubai on 11 October.

The two Ministers met at the end of the thematic week on climate and biodiversity and before the departure of Minister Schnaubelt.

He had a successful week of connecting with stakeholders on investment opportunities in PNG and outlining the country’s desire to live in balance with its rainforest and investing in conservation and renewable energy options.

PNG needs effective foreign policy: Aisi

Deputy secretary of policy, economic and infrastructure sectors and international relations division department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council, Frank Aisi said this, with the policy currently being reviewed.

PNG's foreign policy reflects close ties with Australia and other traditional allies and cooperative relations with neighboring countries.

O’Neill signs agreements with Chinese President Xi Jinping

The Prime Minister said President Xi wants to see a strengthening of PNG’s industrial and manufacturing sector, and to increase exports from the country into China.

President Xi also wants to encourage more tourists from China into Papua New Guinea to see the amazing landscape and the people and to do that he said that China would work with the PNG’s tourism sector to lay the groundwork for Chinese tourist and promote the country.
