The time was right: Executive

Karo Lelai, who is also the vice-president of the BFPNG, said the time was right.

“Our Constitution had not been updated since 2003, so we felt the time was right to make things current and relevant with our governance.

“We spent over six months working on the draft document, consulting with our major stakeholders, while also reviewing many other constitutions from sporting bodies all over the world.

U18 basketball championships exceeded all expectations

Khalu, who was also the tournament director made these remarks at last night’s presentation after the men’s and women’s grand final.

“Being the first Under 18 National Championships that BFPNG have held in a very long time, going in we weren’t really sure how good the level of competition was going to be.

 “Over the four days, we saw that the standard was high-quality in both the men’s and women’s divisions and people walked away from the event wanting to see more.
