Australian High Commission Minister Counsellor, Diane Barclay in her opening remarks thanked Governor Sasindran Muthuvel for his leadership and commitment being vital to this project. She said this project sends a strong example to what can be done through co-investment through Provincial Administrations and Partners like Australia and New Zealand adding also, “A project of this scale certainly wouldn’t have been possible without this partnership.”

​Boosting PNG’s transport department

The new Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Westly Nukundj, and Australian High Commission Minister Counsellor, Benedict David, today signed the deal.

The two-year partnership arrangement between Papua New Guinea and Australia to November 2019 will support the Department to deliver more effectively on its mandate to improve transport connectivity for all Papua New Guineans.
