Aust GG meets young PNG entrepreneurs

The entrepreneurs will be undertaking a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation delivered by the University of the Sunshine Coast and LookNow Training in May and June, this year, through the Australia Awards program.

The entrepreneurs shared plans for their businesses in agriculture, hospitality and tourism with the Governor-General.

Relationship must modernise: Cosgrove

Speaking to Loop PNG,  Sir Peter said there were many technical programs between the two countries that needed reviewing to make sure they were relevant to people of both countries.

“It (PNG and Australia relationship) must continue to modernise.

Cosgrove presents medals to Jackson’s children

The presentation was made at the Bomana War Cemetery where Cosgrove visited and presented the medals to children Arthur and Patricia, who are both in their 60’s.

Cosgrove said although Jackson was thrust into leadership at a very young age, he was a magnificent pilot and a great combat warrior.

He said the annals of the Australian Airforce there is no more significant or gallant than those epic operations led by Jackson during WWII.

Dadae meets Australian GG

Australian Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, arrived just after 12pm to greet Bob Dadae and his wife for a private meeting at the PNG Governor-Generals official residence.

It is understood discussions will centre on the 75th ANZAC Day celebration and commemorations which Australian Governor-General is in PNG to attend.

Sir Peter will continue to the next leg of his three-day tour which is a visit to the Bomana War Cemetery outside of Port Moresby.
