NAC prepares for audit

In a statement from the Office of the Managing Director, the organization is currently working closely with CASA PNG to prepare for this important audit. ICAO officials have had virtual meetings with NAC, CASA PNG and Air Niugini.  

“(They) are happy with the progress on corrective actions taken by NAC on the Security Concerns from their last audits, in preparation for this audit.”

IRC Commences Comprehensive Audits

Commissioner General Sam Koim made the announcement on Thursday 22 December 2022. 

He said, “We have been profiling these two companies (names withheld for confidentiality reasons) for over a year. The letters formally notifying them of the audit were signed and served today.

Audit into police expenditure launched

This is in pursuit of restoring transparency, accountability and compliance within the Constabulary.

This was announced today by Commissioner Manning at the National Police Headquarters in Port Moresby.

This is one of a number of swift actions Commissioner Manning is embarking on in line with the Marape-Steven Government’s intentions to ensure transparency and accountability and to strengthen the command and control mechanisms of the Constabulary.

Public service audit underway

Minister for Public Service Westley Nukundj made this response after Member for Nuku, Joe Sungi, asked him what plans he had in place in identifying relevant public service positions and ensure people were being paid for actually doing work.

Goilala MP calls for proper audits

Being in Parliament for 18 months, Samb said the Government must also provide and fund auditors to carry out acquittals of the MPs’ funds.

Samb further raised concern on the lack of clarity on the functions of the District Development Authority (DDA) chairman and the DDA’s chief executive officer.

“There must be some demarcation in the district to clarify the functions of the district office,” said Samb.

He stated that on many occasions, the DDA chairman and CEOs were always caught in between as to who they will report to.
