Armed men attack Sabama family

Aora Avee and her family were forced by a group men, numbering 20, to vacate the home after the group claimed they had the title to the home, which is a National Housing Corporation property.

Quick intervention by Police from Badili saw the arrest of 13 perpetrators and stopped any further destruction.

Avee said in all her life, she had never experienced something so terrifying, when the armed men broke down the gate and began to destroy property and chase them out.

Armed men threaten Porgera employees

The company confirms that an armed group of intruders attempted to hold up two mineworkers driving a mine vehicle near the Porgera Open Pit on Sunday afternoon.

The mineworkers were travelling between operating sites on the Porgera Mine to move mining equipment during mid-afternoon on Sunday 3 June when they were confronted by a number of intruders, one of whom threatened the employees with a firearm.

Suspect in Asian’s shooting killed by guards: Police

NCD metropolitan superintendent, Commander Perou N’Dranou, said: “One of the suspects that was involved in the shooting was shot dead by security during the armed holdup that went wrong at the Five-Mile service station last Saturday.”

N’Dranou said he received a brief from his investigators fitting the description of the suspect.

The man was allegedly involved in the armed robbery and shooting of a Malaysian man outside Fortune Club earlier this month.
