Alternate Government to visit Enga, Lae

Vocal Opposition Member and Madang MP, Bryan Kramer, says Sir Peter hopes to address his people following his decision to leave the Government coalition.

After the May 17th forum, the group will be traveling own to Lae on the 21st.

“We’re staging a public forum at the Eriku Oval, and this is organised at the invitation of the Governor for Morobe, as well as the Open member for Lae,” stated Kramer.

Marape is alternate PM nominee

In making the announcement last night at Laguna Hotel, Aitape-Lumi MP Patrick Pruaitch said the decision was unanimously reached following their caucus.

“With his experience and with the experience of most of us around him and in this camp, we think that we will redefine and redirect ‘MV Papua New Guinea’ to its direct course,” stated Pruaitch.

“We hope that under his leadership, Papua New Guinea will start to see real changes and eventually take back Papua New Guinea.”

Alternate Government queries figures in reports

The Opposition’s statement follows the release of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) 2015 and 2016 reports.

“These comprehensive EITI reports provide a very valuable source of information on how resource companies are contributing to PNG’s development,” said the Shadow Treasurer Ian Ling-Stuckey.

“As the reports are only into their fourth year, the report includes some important recommendations for making them even better. The Alternative Government strongly supports even more accurate information in future reports.
