In a post on his page on the social network, he said it was making too many errors enforcing policies and preventing misuse of its tools.

Mr Zuckerberg has famously set himself challenges every year since Facebook started in 2009.

Social media firms have come under fire for allowing so-called fake news ahead of US and other elections to spread.

Facebook in particular has been criticised for allowing Russia-linked political ads in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential vote.

May 2018 deliver better for PNG

The Shadow Minister for Treasury and Finance, Ian Ling-Stuckey outlined that unfortunately, the reality is that most families are facing major increases in the cost of living in 2018.

The price of essential goods and services will be rising significantly, jobs especially outside the resources sector will continue to fall and service standards will decline.

“The 2018 budget includes major tariff increases for hundreds of every-day products. PNG families and businesses will feel the pain of these price increases in the face of declining incomes,” said the Shadow Treasurer.

“This is an important meeting where leaders of 14 Pacific Island countries get together and we are hoping they all will participate again come next year,” he said.
