Trade Expo coming to Port Moresby

The Expo is set to become the premier meeting place for both business and government seeking access to the latest developments and innovations across a broad industry reach.

About 1,000 trade visitors are anticipated to attend the two-day event.

The expo will start on May 3 and ends on May 4, 2017.

There will be no charge for Trade visitors to attend.

Merger of agencies to go ahead

The merging of Government agencies with duplicate functions has made little progress since the first four mergers were agreed to in the 2013 National Budget. In 2014 a further three mergers were agreed too.

More than K400 million in loans for 2017

The total Concessional Loans amount to K452.8 million or 3.4 per cent of the total 2017 expenditure projection of K13 billion according to the 2017 National Budgets Economic and Development Policies.

The amount falls under the Development Partner Assistance component of the budget, which is K1, 420.9 million (K1.4 billion).

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) provides the largest share of concessional loans to PNG with K214.1 million and is steered towards transport infrastructure.
