The following is a progressive ladder of the results;

After the Finschhafen Declaration today, Pangu party now records 5 candidates, all from the Morobe Province.

This was the case today when Prime Minister Peter O'Neill welcomed Independent candidates for the Koroba Kopiago seat and the Komo Magarima into Port Moresby today.

Manus gives PNC two more members

 

This follows the elimination of National Alliance candidate Leslie Roai who polled 4681 votes after the 24th exclusion.

His ballot papers were distributed between Benjamin and People’s Movement for Change candidate, George Sikin.

Benjamin collected a total of 7,371 votes to secure the seat.

Meantime for the Manus Open seat PNC also managed to come home with another candidate in the likes of Job Pomat.

Job Pomat managed to secure 6,844 votes to be take the seat.

The incumbent New Ireland Governor saiid “The Namatanai have lost a humble representative, a man with a heart and love for his people – a true friend of all New Irelanders and Papua New Guinea will lose an honest Minister.

“But I have gained a son and I am very proud of his dedication to duty and loyalty to the Government”.

He acknowledged the newly elected MP, Walter Schnaubelt and reiterated his often plea for true Leadership and Cooperation – what he says is the foundation of the peoples future in New Ireland.

COUNTING: Manus Regional progressive results – after 20th exclusion

The progressive Tally for the six remaining candidates after the 20th Exclusion for Manus Regional are:

VIDEO: O'Neill returns with 78 per cent of all ballots cast

This is Mr O'Neill's fourth term to be elected as the MP for Ialibu Pangia.

After count 115 O'Neill collected 48714 votes to be declared.

Officially declaring him is Ialibu Pangia Returning Officer Michael Ariando in the presence of counting officials, scrutineers and supporters.

O'Neill has gone past the 50% +1 absolute majority with a surplus of more than 17,000 votes.
