Trukai Fun Run t-shirts to be auctioned

Team PNG’s largest fundraising event, the Trukai Fun Run, is set to kick off this week with T-shirt auctions.

The 2019 Trukai Fun Run Auctions are happening on the 6th and 7th of March in Lae and Port Moresby respectively.

Rugby league great, Johnathan Thurston, will make special appearance at these two events alongside former Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys, Brent Tate.

The Lae auction is happening at the Lae International Hotel on the 6th of March. Tickets are selling for K650 a chair and K6,000 for a table of 10.

The Port Moresby auction is happening the next day on Thursday, 7th of March, at the Stanley Hotel and Suites. Tickets are selling for K800 a chair and K7500 for a table of 10.

The purchase of a table comes with 100 pieces of the 2019 Trukai Fun Run T-shirts.

All T-shirts selling during the auction will be at K10 each. Successful bidders from the auction are able to brand the t-shirts and donate to schools they bid for. The schools then resell the t-shirts to earn additional income to support themselves with buying new school equipment and others.

T-shirt sales after the auction will be at K15 per t-shirt. Details on where and how to buy the t-shirts will be out after the auctions.

Funds raised from the sale of the t-shirts go towards Team PNG’s participation at the 16th Pacific Games in Samoa in July this year.

Trukai Industries National Marketing Manager, Maybellyn Fernandes, said as the dates are getting closer, tickets for the dinner auctions with Johnathan Thurston are selling out fast. Those who want to secure their tickets to see Johnathan Thurston talk about his childhood growing up, career highlights and future plans can get in touch with the organising committee from the PNG Olympic Committee and Trukai Industries Limited.

To secure your seats, call Trukai Industries on 300 0000 or email events@trukai.com.pg and shoi@pngoc.org.pg, or visit the Trukai Fun Run Facebook page www.facebook.com/trukaifunrun for more information.
