Tigers to dedicate game to Sir Henry Chow

The Lae Snax Tigers will dedicate this weekend’s Melanesian Club Championship match against Nadi Aviators to the late Sir Henry Chow.

CEO of the PNG Rugby Football League, Reatau Rau conveyed this message on behalf of Chairman, Sandis Tsaka when handing over the Melanesian Cup to Snax Tigers sponsor, Ian Chow yesterday.

“In act of recognisance of our heritage and families and supporters, the PNGRFL and Lae Snax Tigers have decided to dedicate this match to honour a staunch and dedicated supporter of rugby league in PNG and franchise owner of Snax Tigers, the late Sir Henry Chow who passed away recently.

“To honour late Sir Henry, the Snax Tigers will wear black armbands and we request that a minutes silence be observed by both teams prior to kick off,” said Rau.

Ian Chow when receiving the Cup said the family appreciated the gesture to honour Sir Henry Chow and urged the team to play their best to return the Cup.

The match will be played on Saturday at 5pm (PNG time) at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, Fiji.
