Serritslev getting side focused

Flemming Serritslev has one more camp with his Papua New Guinea training squad before announcing who will take on Tahiti in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Qualifiers – OFC Stage 3.

With the match now just 24 days away, Serritslev wants his team to prove their second-place finish in the OFC Nations Cup was no mere fluke.

“We did not qualify by chance. We worked for it,” he said.

“We are going to work for positive results and to go all the way.”

The Dane has called on 23 players for the upcoming camp and hopes to rely on the close-knit nature of the team to help achieve their goal.

Without several key members of the OFC Nations Cup squad who have opted to make themselves unavailable for national duty, the likes of Aaron Spain, Brad McDonald, Jamie Woodlock and George Slefendorfas have received call-ups.

In addition, off-shore based players including Alwin Komolong, Michael Foster, Wira Wama and Raymond Gunemba will also join the squad ahead of the home match on 23 March at Sir John Guise Stadium.
