Segeyaro's future in doubt

He is one of PNG’s top rugby league exports and the son of another league legend and Kumul number 70, Ifiso Segeyaro.

But the former Dally M hooker is facing a doubtful future in the 2019 NRL season.

Commonly referred to as The Jack In The Box, 28-year-old James Segeyaro is regarded by sporting pundits as one of the most dangerous hookers out of dummy-half in the current NRL competition.

But his past off-field carelessness is looking to cost him his career in the NRL. Segeyaro remains unsigned for the 2019 season after being released by Cronulla and is fast running out of time to get a new club.

The Eels, Knights and Bulldogs have all shown some interest in the speedy hooker, but dropped off and his improper departure from Leeds Rhinos leaves him no opportunities in the English Super League.

James Segeyaro is no stranger to controversy even with his love hate relationships with PNG rugby league fans. And speaking to reporters he has said to be a changed man.
