Rhadley Brawa on height

Rhadley Brawa has never let his less-than average height get in the way of following in the steps of his rugby league idols.

In a recent interview, the former SP Hunters player revealed that his height used to attract criticism.

The Wynnum Manly Seagulls signee says you have to be prepared to deal with a lot of pain if you want to make it to the top.

Rhadley Brawa, who caught the eye of the Broncos feeder club after playing for only two years with the SP Hunters, revealed that it wasn’t an easy road as he had to deal with both peer and family pressure.

“Sometimes they want you to take up another dream in your life because back then everyone said that ‘Oh you got to go to school and get educated’ and I was like ‘I got to try sports because that’s my dream’,” Brawa said.

“And when I tried it out the door opened up.

“What I learnt was you got to embrace the pain that comes with it and just be consistent, be disciplined and work hard and you’ll live your dream.

“Sometimes I get criticisms that I’m short and all that stuff, but I can tell the guys who are my height and my size that if you believe and if you put God first and if you work hard in silence, it will show out in public as a success.

“So those ones who are playing rugby, especially my height and size, you don’t give up because if you push on you will get what you want.”

Brawa’s contract with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls will lapse after two years.
