Post PNG sees importance of Trukai Fun Run

Post PNG has expressed its joy in supporting the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee through the purchase of T-shirts for the Trukai Fun Run.

Chief Operations Officer of Post PNG, Ben Davis, said the Trukai Fun Run is a great way of giving back to the community and they are pleased to be a part of it.

Davis thanked the PNG Olympic Committee for providing the opportunity for the corporate sector to be part of Team PNG through the Fun Run, and presented a cheque for K16,000 for Fun Run T-shirts.

The shirts were bought during the Trukai Fun Run auctions in Port Moresby on March 8 this year. Post PNG bought 1,600 shirts to be the second highest bidder for Port Moresby.

Davis said the Trukai Fun Run not only gives funding support to the PNG Olympic Committee for Team PNG but it also promotes a new vision of healthy lifestyle and gives opportunities to schools and individuals to benefit from extra funding and special scholarship programs.

“We are proud to be associated with the PNG Olympic Committee and the Trukai Fun Run and we will continue to support it. We are proud of the achievements of our athletes at the recent Commonwealth Games.

“We hope that our contribution can continue to take them to more games to promote our country.”

Secretary General of the PNG Olympic Committee, Auvita Rapilla, thanked Post PNG for the support and welcomed their support of the Fun Run.

“We have a number of Games coming up and your contribution is a big help to us in raising funds for Team PNG.”

Fun Run shirts are available for sale at schools at a price of K10.
