POM Volleyball running smoothly

The Port Moresby Corporate Volleyball Competition is progressing along well with the aim to promote healthy living and mental fitness.

Speaking after the completion of round seven today at the Taurama Aquatic Indoor Centre, President Alfred Vaitai said the interest in the sport is growing.

New teams include Westpac, DLIR, BNBM and BSP.

“This season is the second season. We have 21 organizations taking part. This includes private companies and government organizations. So in total we have 49 teams.

“On each court, we have eight games every Sunday for the men’s and women’s divisions.

Vaitai said the competition is promoting fun and fitness.

“It’s also helping the players with their health and fitness. That’s the whole objective of this competition- to encourage healthy living and mental fitness.

He said the finals will be played later in May.

“By May, we should have our finals with the presentation to follow straight after.”
