POM cricket launches new logo

The Port Moresby Cricket Association Inc. launched its new logo this week at the Aviat Club.

Present on the night to witness the occasion were sponsors, umpires and players from both the indoor and outdoor competition.

President of the POMCA, Dean Ani, explained that work on the new logo started last year.

“We came up with a few samples of the logo and selected the logo which we thought was modernised to go forward with cricket in the POMCA and the country.

“We’ve maintained the Lakatoi and the black and white colours which are our colours. The writing in yellow is for NCD since we are based in NCD.”

He added the new logo will appear on the uniforms of all teams playing in POMCA competitions.

Located below the logo are the POMCA’s new vision, mission and values which Ani said are in line with Cricket PNG’s.

Ani went on to thank all the sponsors for the indoor and outdoor competition, saying their continued support was helping the POMCA to develop and grow.

“This is history for the POMCA,” said Ani.

The POMCA has been in existence since 1963.
