PNG Pepes captain calls it a day

PNG Pepes netball captain Lua Rikis is calling it a day in her international netball career as she hands down the reins to young Jacklyn Lahari.

Rikis led the young netball team to the VAN2017 games, taking out gold by beating a physical Tongan outfit.

President of the PNG Netball Federation has gone on to say that it is a fine way to finish off a colourful career with a golden bang.

She said Rikis has been a role model now and will always be for aspiring netballers.

The gold medal winning performance was her final duty as captain of the PNG Pepes.

Rikis has over 50 international match experience as a goal keeper and more so as a goal shooter in recent times.

She plans to take on bigger roles within netball PNG as she bows out of international representative duties.
