PIH indoor cricket comp growing

The Pacific International Hospital-sponsored corporate indoor cricket competition continues to grow from strength to strength.

This follows on from the competition’s fifth season which came to an end today with the grand final at Amini Park, Port Moresby.

President of the Port Moresby Cricket Association (POMCA), Dean Ani said season five saw 50 teams take part - an increase of 15 teams from last season.

“The competition is also about networking and socialising between players from different corporate companies.

“We’ve had a good mixture of players from all over the country. Plenty good talent as well. The competition continues to grow from strength to strength.

“Hats off to my committee, the companies and the players for making this season another success,” said Ani.

Ani added the POMCA has big plans for the future of indoor cricket.

“We want to have games running from Monday to Friday with night games to be played starting next season. We also want to make indoor cricket an association of its own,” said Ani.
