Open water swimming clinic next week

The FINA Open Water Swimming Clinic for Officials is set to run in Port Moresby next week.

Scheduled to be held from April 27-29, the clinic is designed to educate and train technical officials, ensuring they are given the opportunity to develop their skills and further the development of aquatics within the country.

The clinic will be run by FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee and Open Water Technical Director for the 12th Oceania Swimming Championships, William Ford.

President of PNG Swimming Inc, Liz Wells, said the clinic will conclude with an Open Water Competition at the Naval Base, Fairfax Harbour, on Sunday 29.

Next week’s event will be a lead up to the 12th Oceania Swimming Championships that will be held in the nation’s capital in June of this year.

The Championship’s Open Water event will fall on two days - June 25 and June 30.
