Oa stars again for ICC Women’s Global Development Squad

City Pharmacy PNG Lewas players, Ravini Oa starred for the ICC Women’s Global Development Squad against Western Storm on Friday at Bath Cricket Club in the United Kingdom.

Going into their final match of the series against Western Storm, the ICC WGDS wanted a victor after two (2) wins and two (2) losses in the previous four (4) matches against Surrey Stars and Loughborough Lightning respectively.

After winning the toss and electing to field, the ICC WGDS bowlers dominated opening proceedings with Western Storm slumping to an incredible 5/6 after only 4.4 overs. Opening bowler for the City Pharmacy PNG Lewas, Oa was chief destroyer taking an impressive 3/16 off her four (4) overs, while her new-ball partner, Silk finished with 3/14 off her four (4) overs. The Western Storm eventually recovered to post a respectable 8/105 off their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, the ICC WGDS started steadily to be 3/62 in the 12th over, before a middle order collapse left them in trouble at 7/92. Eventually the ICC WGDS managed to get over the line in the 20th by two (2) wickets with City Pharmacy PNG Lewas’ player, Kaia Arua at the crease.

The ICC WGDS finish their tour with three (3) wins from their five (5) matches with Oa taking nine (9) wickets and Arua taking one (1) wicket.

Both Oa and Arua will be returning back to Port Moresby on Monday.
