Net-Fest competition ends

The PNG Sports Foundation venues management team’s Net-Fest competition ended yesterday after 3 weeks of grueling netball matches.

The competition was to keep the interest of the code burning amongst young and old netballers while the Port Moresby Netball Association competition is on recess.

The 3 weeks of Net-Fest attracted 9 teams competing in under 17, 21 and open divisions for 3 Saturdays.

National Sports Trustee Limited’s events and competition coordinator, Gure Gabina, said the response from teams was overwhelming and indicates the growing interest amongst Papua New Guinean women.

The competition ended with the grand final matches played yesterday (May 12), with winners from the 3 divisions walking away with cash prizes.
