Chairperson for the SP Sports Awards (SPSA) selection panel, Moses Koiri says his committee is expecting a flood of entries this year.
Last year, 155 nominations were received from around Papua New Guinea.
‘We’re looking forward to a lot of entries coming in. There was a lot that happened last year in sports.
“My committee is ready to convene and give you all the finalists for each category in a couple of months’ time.”
He issued a reminder that there are qualifications to meet before an individual, team or media organization is nominated.
“There are specific rules that must be complied with before nominating.”
Koiri finished by expressing his thanks to SP Brewery for their continued support to the awards since 1992.
“Thank you for your support to sports in this country.”
The closing date for nominations is March 16. This year’s SP Sports Awards will be held on May 26.
