Despite the heartbreak after the loss at the semi-finals of the ICC Women's World T20 Qualifiers, the City Pharmacy PNG Lewas returned home proud.
Coach Rarua Dikana, said it's not quite the result the team wanted and although the girls really wanted to qualify for the World T20, this was the first time they reached the semi-finals in this tournament and that in itself was quite an achievement.
The team’s major losses came against Bangladesh and Ireland - the finalists at the Tournament.
Coach Dikana said while the tournament is over, it is time for reflection and to look forward to future tournaments.
The Lewas has a 2 year program now with the aim of improving the fitness, skills, consistency and match experience, an holistic approach is what we need to get to the next level,
