Lewas to play Pakistan next

The City Pharmacy PNG Lewas are hoping to bounce back when they take on Pakistan this Friday in their second match at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's World Cup Qualifier.

The Lewas were thumped by a 118 runs at the hands of Bangladesh in their opening match yesterday at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground.

β€œIt is very crucial for the team and individuals to play well if we are going to advance to the next stage. Without good individual performances, the team will not do well,” said Lewas coach, Rodney Maha.

The match against Pakistan will get underway at 10am local time (2pm PNG time) at the Nondescripts Cricket Club.

Groups in the qualifier:

Group A – India, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Thailand

Group B – South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Scotland and Papua New Guinea.
