Lewas fall short by 16 runs to Samoa

The City Pharmacy PNG Lewas were stopped short by Samoa who beat them by 16 runs on day two of the 2018 ICC Women’s World T20 – East Asia-Pacific Qualifier 2017 yesterday.

Regina Lili'I (36) and Lelia Bourne (29) helped bring Samoa to 5/99 after batting out the full 20 overs.

With the ball, Lewa’s captain Pauke Siaka was the best of the bowlers taking 2/20.

A collapse in the middle order contributed to the Lewas falling short with Konio Oala (0), Veru Frank (0), Brenda Tau (1) and Ravina Oa (5) all going cheaply.

Tailender, Geua Tom top scored for the Lewas finishing unbeaten on 19.

In the end, the Lewas were all bowled out for 83 from 18.2 overs bowled.
