Kumuls to be named on June 16

The PNG Kumuls side for next month’s fixture against Fiji Bati will be named on Saturday, June 16 – one week out from the 2018 Pacific Test.

After the Kumuls and PNG Orchids 2018 calendar was made public, Kumuls coach Michael Marum said he will announce the team after the Hunters round 15 clash against the Ipswich Jets down South.

He said players will be selected from the Queensland Intrust Super Cup, NSW Cup and NRL competitions only.

The Kumuls will assemble in Sydney on Monday, June 18, to prepare for the Pacific Test.

Campbelltown Sports Stadium will be the place to be to catch all the action with the Kumuls and Bati match to kick off the Pacific Test at 4pm, followed by the Toa Samoa versus Mate Ma'a Tonga clash at 7:10pm.

PRIME MINISTERS X111 ‘TEST’ – vs Australia PM X111 – October 6, 2018 – Port Moresby

This annual game against Australia PM X111 since 2006 has been sanctioned for the first time by RLIF receiving ‘Test’ status this year.

The Oil Search PNG Orchids will again line up against the Australian Jillaroos as the curtain raiser to the Prime Ministers X111 Test.

EMERGING KUMULS vs NSW COUNTRY U23 – October 13, 2018 – Port Moresby

The emerging Kumuls U23 team will be selected from Digicel Cup and Confederations. The curtain raiser to this game will be between a Australian Defence Force women team and a select Confederate women’s side

PNG KUMULS vs ENGLAND KNIGHTS – TWO GAME SERIES

The England Knights is the England A side. They are made up players on the fringes ready to make it into the England side.

It has been more than two decades since we had a ‘series’ in PNG.

The first of the two game series against the Kumuls will be played on October 27 in Lae. The second will be in Port Moresby on November 3, 2018.
